You know very well that many of your colleagues choose a very easy subject when they have to write a text, simply because they don’t want to waste to much time with research and writing. While this is easy and comfortable it is most of the time easy to detect by your professor. Choosing the easy way can be a disaster for your grades, so be ready to put some effort into it if you want to make something that it’s worth reading. You can find some interesting, controversial subjects in magazines, books or on the Internet, and it shouldn’t take you too much time to get the right information about them.
You should never start writing just like this, without making a plan or at least an outline. If you do it you will probably forget important ideas, you will arrange them in the wrong way or you will not be able to give your text a good overall look. Before you start writing, create a scheme on a separate piece of paper and make sure you mention every idea that you have to explore, every quote that you need to use and every explanation that you need to give. This will make things much easier!
There are times when you don’t understand exactly what you have to do, and this is completely ok as long as you to find out what is the answer to the problem. The best person to help you is your professor, so every time there is something you don’t know, ask him. Many students avoid doing this, but it will help you more than you think and you will actually develop your skills.
